A Self-Sufficient Industry

Over 90% of paint used in Australia is manufactured here.

APMF members manufacture over $2 billion worth of paint/annum.  ABS figures also indicated that Australia imported around $120 million of surface coatings products in 2015 and exported some $80 million of surface coatings products in the same year.

Ninety percent of all house paints sold in Australia are now water-borne, significantly reducing emissions of solvents into the atmosphere, and coatings extend the life of machinery, bridges and buildings, protecting valuable natural resources such as wood, concrete and steel from the elements.
